FLIGHTS
When to Arrive
The celebrations kick off with our Welcome Party on Thursday evening, September 9. If you’d like to join, plan to land by Thursday morning. Most flights from the U.S. are overnight, so that usually means departing Wednesday night. If arriving Friday or Saturday works better for you, we’ll be just as happy to see you!
We recommend booking sooner rather than later, as fares tend to rise closer to the date.
Fly into one of Rio's two airports
Galeão International Airport | GIG — international flights
Santos Dumont Airport | SDU — domestic, closer to downtown
Direct flights to Rio are available on American Airlines, Delta, United, LATAM, GOL, and Avianca, among others.
If you're planning to extend your trip elsewhere in Brazil, São Paulo's international airport (GRU) has frequent connections around the country.
As of October 2026, yes — U.S. citizens need a visa (eVisa) to enter Brazil. We recommend applying at least 30–45 days before travel. You'll need proof of round-trip travel to apply, so book your flights first.

This can change, so please check this website for the latest requirements before you travel.
